JennAir Double Ovens & Pro-Style Ranges — Error Codes
| Code | What it means | Urgency |
|---|---|---|
| F1-E0 |
Control Board EEPROM Fault
Electronic control board communication failure. Touchscreen or display becomes unresponsive or freezes.
|
High |
| F2-E0 |
Keypad / Touch Panel Short
Stuck button or shorted glass touch user interface panel. Modes may change unexpectedly without input.
|
Medium |
| F2-E1 |
Oven Over-Temperature
Cavity exceeded 575°F during baking. Caused by stuck heating element relay or runaway temperature sensor.
|
High |
| F3-E0 |
Oven Temperature Sensor (RTD) Open
Sensor wire harness disconnected or temperature sensor probe failure. Oven fails to heat.
|
Medium |
| F5-E2 |
Door Latch Stuck Locked
Oven door remains locked after self-clean or during normal operation. Latch motor switch or alignment failure.
|
Medium |
| F8-E0 |
Board Communication Error
Lost communication between main appliance control unit (ACU) and user interface board.
|
High |
On JennAir RISE™ and NOIR™ double oven ranges, many touchscreen display glitches or F1-E0 false alarms stem from minor power line surges. Try disconnecting power at the breaker box for 5 minutes to hard-reset the internal control boards before replacing parts.
Signs your JennAir double oven range needs service
- Upper or lower oven cavity baking unevenly or taking twice as long to preheat
- Dual-fan V2™ vertical convection fan vibrating or making grinding noises
- Touch control panel turning off unexpectedly in the middle of a cooking cycle
JennAir Gas, Induction Cooktops & Downdraft Ventilation
| Symptom | What it means | Urgency |
|---|---|---|
| Clicking |
Igniter Keeps Clicking After Light
Moisture, grease, or carbon on spark electrode sensor. Re-ignition module cannot detect flame connection.
|
Medium |
| No Downdraft |
Downdraft Blower Motor Fails to Engage
Defective speed control switch, gear motor limit switch, or blown thermal fuse in the downdraft assembly.
|
Medium |
| Err / Flashing |
Induction Zone Overheat Protection
Induction glass temperature threshold exceeded. Cooktop shuts down coil to prevent module board burnout.
|
Low |
| Yellow Flame |
Incomplete Gas Combustion
Burner port clogged with grease/spills or air shutter misadjusted on converted propane (LP) supply.
|
High |
JennAir pioneered downdraft ventilation. If your pop-up downdraft vent rises but the blower fan fails to start, inspect the gear motor limit switch located inside the lower duct housing. Grease buildup often prevents the microswitch from activating the fan control relay.
Signs your JennAir cooktop needs service
- Brass dual-stack burners sparking continuously while cooking
- Telescoping downdraft vent sticking halfway or failing to retract completely
- Induction cooktop failing to recognize magnetic induction cookware
JennAir Built-In Refrigerators & Columns
| Code / Symptom | What it means | Urgency |
|---|---|---|
| PO |
Power Outage Alert
Power failure was detected and compartment temperatures rose above normal limits. Press button to clear.
|
Low |
| Door Open |
Door Ajar / Sensor Fault
Door left open longer than 5 minutes or magnetic door switch misaligned on custom overlay panel.
|
Low |
| E2 / Temp |
Evaporator Thermistor Failure
Refrigerator or freezer evaporator sensor reading out of range. Defrost cycle controller disabled.
|
High |
| No Ice |
Ice Maker Assembly or Water Inlet Valve Fault
Water filter clogged, ice maker optic sensor blocked, or dual water solenoid valve burnt out.
|
Medium |
JennAir Obsidian interior built-in refrigerators utilize independent evaporators for fresh food and freezer sections. If the refrigerator section stops cooling while the freezer stays frozen, check for frost buildup behind the air baffle or a malfunctioning fresh food evaporator fan motor.
Signs your JennAir refrigerator needs technical service
- Warm temperatures in fresh food compartment while freezer frost accumulates
- High pitch whirring noise from fan motor behind interior back wall
- Water pooling under bottom crisper drawers or underneath front grille
JennAir Trifecta™ Dishwashers
| Code | What it means | Urgency |
|---|---|---|
| F6-E1 |
Water Inlet Failure
Dishwasher failed to fill with water in allotted time. Check home supply valve, inlet hose, or fill solenoid.
|
Medium |
| F8-E1 |
Drain Failure / Slow Drain
Water remained in tub after drain cycle. Clogged drain hose, sink disposal knockout plug, or bad drain pump.
|
Medium |
| F9-E1 |
Diverter Valve Position Error
Diverter motor failed to direct water to upper/lower spray arms. Caused by broken diverter disc seal.
|
High |
| F7-E1 |
Heating Element Fault
Water failed to reach operating temperature. Blown heating element, thermal cutoff fuse, or relay board issue.
|
Medium |
If your JennAir dishwasher displays F8-E1 and leaves standing water in the bottom stainless steel tub, clean the micro-filtration system at the base of the tub. Fine coffee grounds and food particles can blind the pressure sensor, tricking the control unit into stopping mid-cycle.
Signs your JennAir dishwasher needs repair
- Dishes coming out dirty or wet despite active ProDry™ cycle
- Red light flashing on floor indicator beam during cycle interruption
- Water leaking around bottom tub door gasket or corners
JennAir Appliance Service FAQ
How do I reset error codes on my JennAir double oven or range?
Many error codes can be cleared by switching off the dedicated double-pole circuit breaker in your electrical panel for 5 minutes. If the fault code returns immediately upon power restore, a technician will need to test individual sensor components.
Why is my JennAir double oven taking so long to preheat?
If preheating takes longer than 15–20 minutes, either the hidden bake element, broil element, or rear convection heating ring may have burned out. JennAir ovens use alternating heating elements during preheat cycles, so if one element fails, heating times double.
